how's the house selling going? have you had many showings?

The house is going slow. We had a showing last week. The market is slow right now and we lowered it as much as we are going to lower it, so we will see. G is thinking about taking it off for a little while and refinincing to get the rate a little lower (we have a good rate now, but since the rate are so low why not).

I'm thinking right now that if it doesn't sell by November or December to just take it off the market, until the market recovers more. I would like to set the second bedroom up as a craft area and I can't do that if we are still showing it, so if we take it off the market that is what I am going to do.

Thanks for asking. I was hoping that with school starting people would be out looking. Who knows it could sell tomorrow. We don't have to sell so we are fine with it being on the market, I do feel bad for the ones who have to sell their house and noone is biting.

  • I know it's so hard. My friend had hers up for about 9 months and couldn't sell. They took it off and did some cosmetic updates and put it back on in the spring for about 6 months and it finally sold.

We really want to refinance too, but we don't have enough equity in the house yet. The rates are SO great right now! That'd be wonderful if you could get locked in lower and have a lower payment every month. You're right, you're lucky that you're not in a situation where you HAVE to sell right away. The market is bound to come back around eventually. I hope so, for all our sake's :)
