Re: Virgin Ikea goer
Give yourself a LOT OF TIME, lol. The store is enormous!!! For me, the layout is a little confusing, but it is nice to see all of the stuff set up in "rooms" and such so that you can see what it would look like.
Most items are on massive warehouse shelves near the checkouts. So as you walk through the store, you can pick up little items, but anything bigger you'll just write down what it is that you want and then find it on the shelves at the end.
I'd recommend visiting the restaurant/cafe too. They have yummy food.
Store is in 2 levels - 1st floor is marketplace (kitchen, lighting, home decor), cashiers, and warehouse where you pick up your larger items. 2nd floor is a maze of room set-ups and fully assembled furniture, office stuff, kitchens, bedrooms yada that you can interact and see how everything looks, feels. There is a food court if you're hungry, and there also is a little food mart by the exit where you can purchase food and grocery items they have. Have fun!!
I have no tips because I spent my first time at Ikea dragging my jaw on the floor behind me because I was amazed. Definitely my happy place.
And definitely follow Monkey's advice. The food there is cheap and actually very good.
