I need a new straightening iron
I've had the same CHI for almost seven years. I accidentally dropped it the other night and broke loose one of the plates. So I'm in the market for a new flattening iron. I'm thinking about replacing it with the same original CHI but I don't want to be missing out on something better. I have extremely curly thick hair that takes forever to get straight. Sooo, what do you use to straighten your hair and why do you love it?
Re: I need a new straightening iron
I really like my CHI, usually. Sometimes it pulls strands of hairs (???) and I don't feel like it works as well as it should.
I've kind of been looking for a new one, too. Have you seen this thing?
The bar part rolls while you run it through your hair and it's supposed to help fight frizz and make your hair smooth - that's the way I understand it, anyway. I really want to try it, but I don't know anyone who has it to give me a review. It's the same price as the CHIs, so I assume it works pretty well...
My CHI recently bit the dust also! I just bought a Ken Paves flat iron from Ulta. It is a bit skinner than my Chi, but it is awesome. My hair is very thick and wavy. I think I love it more than I did my Chi and it was only $60!
I have a Solia and I like it better than CHI. The Sedu is supposed to be very good as well (just more $$). Definately go to folica.com even if you're buying another CHI. They have great prices and are legit (some sites sell "fake CHI's" I've heard).
ETA: What I like about the Solia is it has adjustable temp.
When I was searching for a new flat iron my hairdresser suggested this one: http://www.sallybeauty.com/nano-flat-iron/SBS-345136,default,pd.html?cgid=Hair09-06. She only uses it in her salon (said she'd never use a CHI again). I LOVE it. Get's super hot, super fast. I don't have super curly hair, but I got to bed with my hair wet so when I wake up it is sticking out all over the place. It only takes one, maybe two, swipes with this bad boy to get it straight.
