Prop 2 would require chickens to be housed in cages that allow them to sit, turn around, stretch, and lift their wings. Currently they are allowed to live in cages jam packed with other chickens where they can't really move around. I actually don't think the prop. goes very far, but it's better than the current situation.
Oprah is doing a show on the prop. today!

Ah. Yay for better conditions for chickens!
I will never be vegetarian, but I want to buy all organic/free range meat. Too bad it is eleventy billion dollars. I already shop at the farmers market and buy a significant amount of organic other products. I think I am halfway to official Crunchy Granola Person status. Some day.....
Yes! I am happy that we are doing something about this. Every time a similar measure goes through the legislature it gets voted down.
