Oh how I love him!...long

I've been struggling with back pain since I spent 90 minutes on a massage table 3 weeks ago.  I missed a day from work again on Friday and have been in excruciating pain, even with muscle relaxants & pain killers in me 24 hours/day since Friday morning.

My husband has been so amazing through this. I have a 14-year history of back problems, and this is the worst I've been since we met. I was in tears on Friday night because the pain was so bad. He brings me the ice-pack and gets it placed or takes it away and gets me settled every 20 minutes, literally.  And he makes sure I take my meds when I need them and have food to take with them. Friday he drove out to my office to pick up my laptop so I could work from home.  And today, he's going to drive me out there again to gather what I need for my business trip to San Antonio - I leave tomorrow. He is doing the laundry today, and he is going to help me pack tonight. He is pretty much my saviour this weekend.

The last time my back was this bad, I was single and living alone. What a difference this time. HH never ceases to amaze me with his giving and caring generosity. I didn't get to go to church today, but I did say a prayer thanking God for my husband. I realize that we do what we have to to survive, but I really don't know how I got through all of this before. It is not nearly as bad this time with HH by my side. It seems he makes everything better - even the painful stuff.

Oh, how wonderful it is to be married! It is so nice to have my true companion and partner by my side through thick & thin. He makes it so easy to reciprocate when he needs me. I hope I can be as good for him as he is for me.

  • Thanks everyone for the well wishes! Although my trip will not be pain-free, I am feeling better with pain down to a 5 this morning with no meds in my system. I had been on muscle relaxants and pain meds non-stop since Friday morning and I was sitting at a 5 or 6 most of the weekend.  The pain will go up as the day progresses, but that's what meds are for. We fly out at 10:00 CST, so please pray for no delays or missed connections.  That would be a big problem for me today. And HH is sleeping in on his first day back to school after a weekend of tending to my every need. He will take me to the airport and then head that way. I hope you all have a great week!
  • I'm really sorry your back has been bothering you, but I'm so glad you have a wonderful husband to take care of you! Have a safe trip and I hope your pain eases up!
