dress help

Not the white dress.. already have one.

I'm going to a wedding in September and I think i've found the  dress I want. But their sizes online say the bust is a C cup. I'm a 34A. I usually choose a size 4... but not sure on this because it's saying it's based off a 32 c. Which I'm thinking the dimensions would probably change the way it was fitted. They have a size 2 which would be 33 inches at the bust and the 0 is 32.

I have no idea if i'm ever going to have time to drive up to providence because that's the only place around here that has this dress in stock. I'd have to find pay the babysitter or try to bring the boy with me which is a complete event in it's self. Or wait till H has a day off when I do(that's funny). So... what would you do?

Re: dress help

  • can you order the dress and have it shipped to you to see if it would fit? and do they have a decent return policy if it doesnt?

i think if i i were you, id go with the size 4 if thats what you normally wear, because the bust can be taken in, but if you go with a smaller size that fits the bust, the rest of it would be difficult to let out if need be.

otherwise, it depends on the pricepoint of the dress. if it was inexpensive, id just order it. if its more pricey, id call the store and see if they can give you the exact measurements of the whole dress, bust and other.

  • I agree with Kim. I'd order the dress online in the size 4. See how it fits. If it fits everywhere else, maybe all you need to do is just get the bust tailored.

How much time do you have til you need to wear the dress?

  • Can you post a link to the dress?  Might be able to help you better!

  • Honestly, I would probably just look for a different dress.  I hate shopping for clothes online and since you are already concerned about the fit, there is a big chance that whatever you go with won't fit you.  Finding something else could save you the hassle of having to return it.

  • I wouldn't buy it, IMO.  Like pp's, I'm sure you can find another dress somewhere.  Although, if you really love it and the return policy is decent, and you have the time to buy and exchange it, go for it.
