Since Adam and I are once again down to one vehicle with his transmission being out, he had to drop me off and pick me up from work yesterday. Well, he picked me up at 4:30 and asked if I minded sitting in the car while he goes back to the job site to help finish up the siding job they were working on. I told him that's fine. So they finish up at like 7 while I took a nap in the A/C. Since Adam had to work late, and I had to sit in the car for a couple of hours, his boss is going to give him a sweet bonus today!!! YAY for extra money!!!!
Re: How awesome is this?
I'm really glad HH gets paid by the hour. He usually works an average of 60 hours a week, sometimes 70.
Yikes! I need to stop complaining now!
Evenings and weekends lol. He usually has to be at work at 4:30am and he gets off anywhere from 5-6pm in the evening. Right now he's just a relief driver for his company so he has to run whatever route they stick him on. He's working so late tonight because on top of the regular route he has to stop at 4 schools and fill their coolers since school is starting back up. We text and call eachother during the day though.
That is totally awesome that he is getting a bonus.
Reading this thread has made me really grateful for UPS!!!
That must be nice! HH used to have a job working 8:30-5:00 Monday-Friday but he hated sitting at a desk all day.
Matt's job is supposed to be regular business hours, but, as he tells me all of the time, when you're working in human services, you need to be flexible. Because parents can't show up to their kid's required family session within an hour of the start time (kind of explains how the kid ended up on drugs and in placement by order of the court system in the first place, doesn't it?). Because the kids decide to punch each other out randomly during the day, which means that they need to go haul heavy packs around the perimeter of campus instead of coming to meet with their addiction counselor like they're supposed to. Which means that the addiction counselor has to make up that required session later whenever it can be squeezed in. Etc.
There's nothing going on here either. I'm waiting for one of the managers to finish approving payroll so I can send it through, then I'm officially done for the day. I can't leave till 5pm though =[ Only an hour and 45 minutes to go...
I'm having a crappy day and can't wait to go home.
Apparently the powers that be were NOT pleased with my presentation this morning and my boss is catching heck as a result. I hate it when people give me no guidance regarding what I'm supposed to talk about, tell me to keep it quick, and then I get in trouble for not covering the right material and not taking long enough to do it.
I love being a librarian, but sometimes I really can't stand all of the political crap that we have to deal with here. If Matt ever gets a better job, I would love to work somewhere that paid less but let me focus on being a librarian instead of on all of the superficial stuff that takes up half of my time.
/whine. Gosh, my head aches.
Being salaried definitely sucks...at End of Year, Adam works 50-60 hours a week and gets nothing.
Me, on the other hand....love being paid hourly, and love getting time and a half for overtime and holidays!
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
