Wow, did anyone watch The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo??

Omg. This is the first movie I've seen in a long time that I felt was amazing. But I'll probably never watch it again because it was soooo graphic, and I'm a pretty sensitive person. :( I think I will have to make time to read the books now.... at least when they start getting graphic, I can put it down for a while.

What did everyone else think?

As an aside, we picked this up to watch the night of DH's birthday... we had no idea what the story line was about, and yeah, it totally killed the mood. For both of us. I felt so bad. No birthday sex that night! Lol.

  • I haven't seen it and based on your "review" I probably won't see it either.  Several coworkers were talking about it happy hour last month.  One loved the book and the other couldn't get through the first chapter.

  • Wait, there's already a movie? I thought I read recently that Daniel Craig just signed on to be Blomkvist in a movie?

I tried twice to read the book.  Once I started seeing where part of the story was going, and thinking it might get graphic, I had to put it down.  I have read a couple of books with similar subjects recently and have had enough for now.

I was confused by this too!  There was just an article on Yahoo about Daniel Craig being cast in the movie and about the actress who is cast as the lead character but when I saw that I just thought, didn't they already make a movie?  I'm thinking that what happened is that the original movie is a foreign film and therefore folks in Hollywood want to Americanize it since the books kind of took off in America.  Just a guess.

Oooh I bet you're right. I'm not up on my hollywood/tv/movie news, but that sounds like something they would do. And yes, the movie I watched was subtitled (I think they were speaking Swedish?).
