I have a dilemma. Only it's not really a dilemma, it's kind of dumb. But this board is freaking dead so I'll attempt to give it CPR.
When I was pregnant, we registered for this highchair:

I don't know why since I don't really like all that colorful crap. Someone bought it for us and it is sitting in our attic, in the box.
My aunt has this super nice, $230 highchair from when she had her kids (they are 6):

She told me I could have it but it's at my (batshitcrazy) grandma's house so I'd have to get it from her. I don't know the condition of said highchair but I figure if it costs that much, it should be able to survive a nuclear holocaust.
Grandma doesn't want to give me the chair b/c it's used. She wants me to return the original highchair ($99) and then she will pay the difference for a new Peg Perego. I think this is extremely wasteful since she already has one sitting in storage. And I could use the $99 to buy diapers or something else that we need.
Grandma also has a Jenny Lind chair. Like this:
I also really like this chair. But again, the psycho won't give it to me because it's used. And they discontinued them so I can't go buy one. But since Grandma is crazy, she went to Cullen's anyway and discovered the more modern wooden high chair by Graco:

She has now decided that this is THE CHAIR for me.
So I don't know what the fvck to do. I am not buying a new high chair since a) we already have one & b) my family has an abundance of freaking chairs. If my grandparents were filthy rich, I would just let her buy the freaking chair but they are not and I feel guilty taking her up on her offer (or rather, her insistence) of buying N a new one.

Re: Help me out, folks
I voted just use the one you have. It's just a high chair and before long, it'll be so covered with goop that you will be glad it wasn't something you loved.
High chairs can get pretty gross.
That said, if you want something that will save space (and is so convenient if you're going to someone else's house to eat), I cannot rave enough about this chair. It saves so much space because it seriously folds up flat. And it's sturdy, Elise has been using it since 6 months old and is still using it. We take it with us every time we go to the camp or down to my parents house. Love it. And it's cheap.

I vote steal the Jenny Lind. My mom has the one she used for me and my brother, and I plan to use it for my kids. Get that and find a cushion for it. Use the $99 for something else.
