How exactly do you thank someone for towels?

Mr. and Mrs. So and So, thank you for the lovely towels.  I plan on drying off with them after I take a shower?

Sincerely,

Sara and Adam.....

Somehow, that just doesn't sound right.  Anyone have any suggestions?

  • I would totally write that! Its honest. haha I would just leave it at Thank you for the lovely towels??? Seems a little short but really what else can you put? Maybe a "it was nice seeing you at the wedding" or something to that measure? I really don't know. Sorry my help sucks.

Thank you for the lovely towels. They match the bathroom perfectly!

    haha

  • I got LOADS of towels at one of my bridal showers - literally like 4 different people brought me a stack each.  I wrote "thank you for such soft and fluffy towels, now we can throw away the grungy ones that are still kicking around from our college days"  haha

We also got monogrammed towels from a friend of Dave's mom, and she has a really good sense of humor, so I wrote in hers "thank you for such gorgeous towels.  I'm thrilled that mine aren't going to smell like hockey gear and Dave is excited that his won't have mascara streaks on them"

  • Yep... "Thank you for the lovely towels. They match the bathroom perfectly! It was wonderful to see you at the wedding. Love, Sara and Adam." I think that's about all that needs to be said.

This. I got alot of towels too. I think I wrote "Thank you so much for the towels. They will be put to very good use!"

  • VERY glad to know I'm not the only one who hasn't finished thank you cards! (even though I think you're a couple weeks behind me? But still...)

I swear I'll work on those tonight.

    Maybe.

  • HA!!  I just did 6 of them during my lunch break at work, so total, I've done 13.  It's pretty bad when your husband starts nagging you about doing thank you notes.  I told him I would try to get at least 5 done a day while I'm on break at work (or on break from the nest, haha).

    Maybe.

I haven't even started mine yet...what a horrible bride I am. I did design them last night, though. Can I get a few points for that at least?

  • On the thank-you note front, I went to a baby shower for my cousin a couple of months ago. I gave her a beautiful (if I do say so myself) baby blanket that I had lovingly hand-knitted over the course of the previous four months. That I had literally CRIED over as I figured out new patterns and stitches, that I had unraveled several times to fix almost imperceptible flaws.

My mom bought her some random baby stuff at Walmart. I'm sure it was nice.

Mom got a thank-you note from my cousin weeks ago. I've gotten nothing.

So just remember to send notes at the same time to people who are likely to be talking to each other about such things.

  • Oh dear! That's terrible. I'll definitely do that!

aww, that sucks!!  Yeah, I've been sending them out in groups.  The first group was people from my work.  The group I worked on yesterday was my dad's office.  My mom mentioned to me the other day about how my cousin (whose wedding we went to while we were in Mississippi) sent her a really nice thank you note... Dude, I gave you a check, too.  Where's my thank you?  I'm not really worried about it, but my cousin knows that my mom and I live in the same town... we talk to each other almost daily.
