Dress Options

Going to a wedding this Saturday and I can't decide on a dress to wear!

These are my two choices so far:

in Black. Love this dress but too plain?

I didn't think that I would like this 'ink' color on at all, but was surprised how much I liked it when I tried it on! I'm just worried that the bubbly part is TOO bubbly and just makes me look big. I think that the picture with the three girls shows how the dress looks a little bit better.

Thoughts? Find a different dress??

Re: Dress Options

  • Are you going to a wedding or IN the wedding?

I love the cut of the first dress and I think you could find places to wear it over and over.

While I like the second one (especially the unusual color), it looks like a bridesmaid dress to me (something about the cut and the shiny fabric?) and I don't think it's as re-wearable.

  • I'm partial to the first dress and think it would look fabulous on you!  Like Lisa said you could wear it again and again.  Plus you can dress it up with shoes and accessories big time (if need be) :)

I agree with Lisa too, but the thing that catches my eye on the first one is the bottom (below the chest) part of the dress, does not seem figure flattering from the front.

The  second dress photo of the three girls. I kind of like either the charcoal grey style one or the purple colour one. More classic looking.

  • I love the first dress.  I think you can wear that to anything you want to after the wedding, it's perfect to dress up and dress down.  My vote is for #! :)

  • I like the first dress because you can wear it over and over again. If you think it's too plain, you can dress it up with nice jewelry and shoes.

  • i like the first dress too.  I really love that ginger color it also comes in...not sure if you definitely want black or not.

  • My vote definitely goes to the first dress. The second dress is not my style and does look a little bridesmaid-ish.  The first dress is fun and, depending on your shoes and accessories, you can change where you wear it.  You can have a lot of fun with color with the first dress (and the other color available is nice too).
  • I agree with pp about the first dress because when I first saw the 2nd one, it looked like a bm dress to me. Both are really pretty but I'd definitely wear the 1st one unless I was in the bridal party...

  • I really like the first one!  in fact, I may copy you and buy one for myself!  The second one is pretty fancy and you probably won't get as much wear out of it.  I think it could be styled down a little (the pictures of it looks so BM-y) so I wouldn't be worried about being mistaken for being IN the wedding... but I think you would probably be more comfortable in the first one...

I like that #1 can be dressed up (for a evening wedding I'm attending next month) and dressed down for an afternoon/outdoor wedding I'm going to in Phx in Oct.  hmmmm, may order it.

  • Thanks for the input everyone!

I was kinda concerned about dress #2 being a little too glammy. I would've been more into it if it was more of a cotton material vs the taffeta that it is. I really like the design on the bust of that dress tho! But point taken, I could probably save a lot of money by not buying a dress that I won't be able to wear very often.

Instead, I'll use the money towards accessories! Thanks!!
