I'm such a loser

I am supposed to wear these things on my legs all the time to prevent blood clots. They puff up, one leg at a time, and give my legs a squeeze. I think they are meant more for people that are confined to the bed, not people getting up every ten minutes to pee, but whatever. I was wearing them all the time in the beginning but now I give myself "breaks" from them. Today I thought I am going to be on the computer for a while so let me be good an put them on. I strap them on (not an easy thing to do with 7lbs of baby in your belly) and sit here for a good two hours.

Then I realize that they are not turned on. I've been sitting here with these leg warmer things for hours and they've been doing nothing. What a loser I am. This isn't the first time I've done this, either. Sigh.

  • Ooh, those things suck. My dad had to wear them after his prostate cancer surgery and they are so tight and hot.

  • I hate those things.  I couldn't sleep with them on.

  • I had those things on after my c-section.  Not fun.

How are you doing?  Going stir crazy?

  • I don't mind them when they are on they are just a pain to get on and off. I'm not very bendy these days. I put them on before bed and they don't get put back on after bathroom break # 1.

I'm not going crazy yet at all. I've been working, watching West Wing on DVD, reading, having visitors. There are so many people in and out in the mornings, too, that it's noon everyday in the blink of an eye. I have to be on the monitors for an hour in the morning and an hour at night so that eats up time, too.

My Ffn was positive last week so I am not going home before 34 weeks. The babies are great though and both well over 3lbs already. I had one episode of contractions yesterday but we were able to stop them so we're cool for now.

  • Sorry to hear you don't get to go home, but I'm so glad the babies are doing well.
