what's your opinion ladies?

So a little background first, on some of my previous posts, I've complained about what a b!tch and a slacker Adam's boss is.  Well, it's likely (thank god) that she will get fired (yay!).  Adam is friends with this lady that used to work at his work (Susan) who he talks to everyday and has been someone he complains to about work, can understand what's going on and offers him work related advice.

If his boss gets fired, then he was thinking that his senior would move up and then he, in turn, would move up as well.  Great!!  A promotion!

Well, he just told me via text that he thinks his senior will likely not get promoted, since she was not up front to their director about the BS that was going on with their boss and the director's pissed about that.

It seems that he has heard Susan jokingly ask another director if they'd fired Dawn yet, because she (Susan) wants to come back to the company and thus replace Dawn, so Adam's senior wouldn't get promoted to Dawn's job and Adam wouldn't get promoted in turn either.

And adam said that he thinks she was telling him in a round about way that there will not be an opportunity in the near future for him to move up.

Is it me or does this seem a little backstabby?  She knows how badly he wants to be promoted, and it's like she's telling him this because she wants the director job. I told him that it seems a little weird, and I know she has the best intentions for him, but it just seems a little sketchy.  Am I wrong?

  • Let me make sure I understand this, Susan doesn't work for your HH's company anymore, correct? So instead of hiring within the company for this job opening, they are going outside the company to hire? Does Susan know your HH wants the promotion? If she does and she's still going after the job I can see where he'd be upset, I know I would be.

  • Well, you said that his senior probably wouldn't get promoted anyway, so someone is going to have to take the job.  I don't think it's really being backstabby.

Right, susan doesn't work for his company anymore and yes she knows he wants the job.  But I guess stu is right, if his senior doesn't get promoted then someone will have to take the director job.

Still super sucky that he can't catch a break - that interview he had last week for a promotion he knew he wouldn't get, they cancelled it before he even got to do it!  He knew he wouldn't get the job, but he wanted the interview experience. :-/

  • To be honest, we're lucky he has a job - lots of people don't.  We should be thankful for what we have!

  • Could or does your hubby want to go for the opening??
  • He could go for the senior position, but nothing higher - he doesn't have the experience.  And he wants the senior position - bad.  But he told me, just because dawn leaves, doesn't mean a senior position will open. :(
