Wall Photo Collage

Ok so this is a technical question...I am doing a wall collage of photos and right now all the photos are in B&W and I am wondering would you mix color in with it or would you keep the entire collage in the B&W theme???

I kind of like to keep themes but I have the most adorable picture that is in color that I'd like to put up...but not sure I should since its color and that would get away from my other photos...

    Hm... would it maybe work to put the colored photo in the center, or otherwise arrange it so that all the B&W photos look like they're kind of surrounding/emphasizing/pointing towards the color photo?

    Not sure if that would work or not...

    That's a good idea...I might have to see what I think of it and do some testing tonight...otherwise I can do a switcheroo of photos and put the color back in the frame it was and on the hutch and put the new photo in a frame for the collage.

    Good to know...I think what I may do is switch the one I originally had wanted in for another one that is smaller.  I have an 8x10 color and I think that might be too much but if I swap it for the 5x7 and build around that it might work better.  Too much to think about!

    Anyone have any good tips or websites for hanging photo collages? I have 5 larger frames (around 11x17 size with 5x7 or 8x10 picture openings) that I'd like to arrange in a photo collage but can't figure out the best way to hang them.

    You could always cut out some cardboard and "hang" them on your wall with masking tape until you find an arrangement you're happy with and then put up the real ones.

    this is what i did with my set of 12 frames. i traced them on cardboard, cut them out and mark the hangers by punching a hole in the cardboard. then i put them on the wall, measured 1' between all sides where the frames butted up against one another and marked the nail hole. then i took the cardboard down and hung the nails, then the frames.

    worked perfect. i only had to do everything once and my collage was perfect.
