So, my job hunt is not going well. There was a position I thought I was almost guaranteed, but that's fallen through. So, unless one of the last minute applications I am working on now works out, I don't see myself getting a job.
So, my thought was that I would substitute at nearby districts. Not ideal, since it's not guaranteed work, and it's not being in one classroom or school like I would want.
A friend of a friend has positions open for a toddler and pre-k teacher in a private preschool. This is not what I want to do, but it would be more permanent and in one place. Of course, then I lose the chance to get some more experience in the public school setting.
Any thoughts? I'm really down about all this, I'm just hoping and praying something will work out.
Re: Need job advice.. what would you do?
I think you'd be suprised at how often you could be asked to sub. I don't know the district or anything that you'd be working in, but MIL coordinates all the subs here and she always needs good people.
Have you looked into being an aide for the year? While it may not be exactly what you want to do, it gets your foot in the door with the public schools and starts to get your name out there for future positions.
