Patiently Waiting... Or Trying To [UPDATE]

Instead of signing listing papers for our house last night, our realtor let us know that there was another interested party in the house we were hoping to buy.  This other guy is interested in either buying (boo-hiss) or renting (*sigh* we might still have a shot).  We have yet to hear how things went at their meeting last night.  The chance of losing this house definitely made me realize how much I really do love it.  I'm just hoping that he decided it wasn't the right house for him so we can move forward with this process.  And since the patiently waiting isn't working out so well, I hope my realtor calls soon with good news!

ETA:  And the waiting continues.  The listing agent is in the ER with her son who broke his leg!  While I feel bad for the kid, I still want to know if the deal is done or if we still have a chance.  Trying to not go nuts today.

ETA (for the second time):  The guy wants to buy it.  Apparently he has some money but currently doesn't have a job and is trying to qualify for a mortgage today.  We'll find out tonight if it he got approved (not sure how that would be possible) or if our house is going on the market.  Please keep your fingers crossed for us!

Re: Patiently Waiting... Or Trying To [UPDATE]

  • Sorry to hear about the competition! When we were writing our offer on our house back in Feb/March, we got a call that they had gone under contract with another buyer and we were heartbroken. It was our dream house. We were just so upset. Looked at a bunch of other houses and nothing compared. Turns out about a week later the first buyers walked away and we were able to get the house we loved. So keep your fingers crossed, sometimes these things have a way of working themselves out! I know the waiting is hard. Hope you get a call soon!
  • Ohno! I hope you hear good news soon!
  • Buying a house is so frustrating sometimes! Hopefully the other person decides to walk away or does not have a very strong offer--that way you have a better chance!  Good luck.
  • Oh no! That stinks. I hope you hear something soon. Good luck!
