FU: house offer

Well, the offer wasn't bad.  We countered, they countered back and we were only $500 apart.  After thinking about it we just couldn't accept it.  Not b/c of the $500, because we would still have to bring 18k to the closing table!

The house just isn't worth anything and we can't justify spending our savings on it.  In a last ditch effort we are going to call the ank tomorrow and explain the situation to them.  We are hoping to get a short sale and still walk away from the house.

In the meantime, I have a good tenant lined up to move in october 1st and she will be covering the entire mortgage/tax/insurance.  Now all I have to worry about is the bank threatening to foreclose again b/c I'm not living there.  This is so frustrating, but I'm hoping it will work out in the long run.  I guess only time will tell.
