DH's wedding ring...not gold?

If your DH's wedding ring isn't made out of gold, what's it made out of? The hubby has officially lost his wedding ring (don't even get me started), and we need to replace it.

But right now it's going for over $700 and that's just not an option at the moment.

So...if your hubby has a titanium or tungsten or something else band, how has it held up? Comfort? Durability? Scratch-resistant?

And where'd you get it from?

Thanks!

Re: DH's wedding ring...not gold?

  • DH has a tungsten ring. It still looks like it did on our wedding day. We bought it from some Amazon store for about $60. :-)
  • DH has either a titanium or tungsten, I can't recall which it is. It still looks great and doesn't have any scratches. It's super lightweight and soft/smooth on the inside. I think it cost around $75.

  • Brent has the comfort fit tungsten ring and he LOVES it.  Ours was $96.00.  He has NO scratches on it and it's held up GREAT with all the work he does!!

  • My hubby has a Titanium ring and he loves it.  It doesn't have any scratches, and I got it brand new on eBay for.......$18 (including shipping). I feel like a cheapskate but it is authentic stamped Titanium, has held up well, and I can't resist a bargain. :)

  • Joe got a tungsten ring at first, but then he changed his mind and we got him a platinum ring.  We still have the tungsten ring, though, and Joe wears it from time to time (not on his wedding ring finger).  It's held up fine - it doesn't scratch or anything, but I have noticed that it discolors.  It looks dull and splotchy now, which I think made it look ugly.

  • DH's good band is gold but his "spare" is tungsten and its held up well.  We were going to get him a Titanium until the Jeweler said that if he ever broke that finger or his hand swelled up they'd cut his finger off because most ER's don't have the tool to cut Titanium off...and DH works in a job that broken fingers could and do happen so we opted for something that could be ripped off easily.
  • DH's ring is Tungsten Carbide and we got in from Wedding Day Jewelrs.  It's really neat and DH gets lots of comments about it!!  It looks like

  • Another DH with a Tungsten ring here! I can't remember how much we paid for it or where we got it... hmm.  I know it wasn't much, I think we got it at a jewelry store in the mall.  He loves it.  After 4 years it still looks really good, no scratches or anything and he does a lot of manual work like working on cars and stuff.  Highly recommend.

  • My DH recently lost his too...

He just ordered a cheapy one from zales.com. He lost it during a fishing tournament, which he participates in a lot during the Summers. We decided to just get one online. Nothing will replace the original Sad but we obviously still wanted to get him a nice ring.

I want to say it was like $50-$70. It's a titanium ring. He loves it, it's super comfortable and he's gotten minimal scratches on it since June despite working on cars, 4wheeling, fishing etc..

  • My DH wears a palladium ring (like platinum only cheaper).  Looks like platinum, doesn't ahve to be rhodium plated like white gold.  It is literally maintenance free and looks like it did the day we bought it.  He loves the comfort fit and never takes it off.

    No Siggy

  • Tungstun- It looks great- no scratches- very nice ring

We went tungstun because he works with large machines and the ring woudl be destroyed if gold or platinum- And Tungstun will shatter if his hand is caught in a machine so he wont lose his finger like some other metals that pinch.

It does have a brush-design.  Similar to this...

  • DH's is Titanium. It till looks great, going on 4 years later. Not a scratch on it. He doesn't wear it when doing something that would really scratch it up.

ETA: He also has a sterling silver one that we bought at Kohls for like $15 that he wears for vacations and other things where he wants to wear the ring but thinks there's a chance he may lose it.

  • Titanium from Jared's for $80.  He wanted it to be lightweight, he says it's like wearing plastic.

  • DH has a tungsten ring similar to the one in BlinkMe's post.  We got it at Jared and payed under $200 for it.

Almost 2 years later it looks just like we did when we got it and DH has definitely banged it around on stuff.

  • My DH's ring is sterling silver from Sears for $60... no kidding.  We've been married almost 8 years and it has held up great.  I know this isn't what you asked, but if your DH is prone to losing things, like mine is, we didn't think it was worth it to spend all that money on his ring.  Sorry you have to buy a new one :(
