Forgot to tell you guys....

I posted this on FB, so some of you may have already seen it... we went to the gas station last night by our house because we needed to pick up some beer, etc.  Well, I sit out in the car while Adam goes in.  I start thinking to myself, "damn, he's been in there a long time".  Well, he finally comes out all pissed off and I ask him what's wrong.

The dude at the gas station tried to overcharge Adam by 100 bucks.  We go to that gas station almost every day so Adam didn't think anything and just handed over his card without getting the total first.  He's about to walk out and he looks at the receipt.  Instead of punching in $11.99 for my half-case of beer, the guy punched in $111.99.  Adam makes the guy give him his money back.

Moral of the story:  Always check the total before you hand over your debit card and always check your receipt before you leave the store!!!

  • EEK!!  Did the guy do it on purpose or did his finger slip and hit the 1 button too many times without him realizing it??  That has happened when I've been out shopping a few times, but the cashier has always noticed it and corrected their own mistake...but I can see some stoner who works at a gas station not even notice and just ring it through.  Or do you think he was gonna try to pocket the $100??  If he was, I would kick him in the baby maker.

  • I think it just had to have been an accident.  I mean, obviously we're not stupid enough to NOT notice 100 bucks being on our bank statement at the freakin gas station.  The guy is kind of an ass though.  Slightly pervy.  He creeps me out.  Adam said the guy got all scared when he called him out on it.  The dude's like 40 or something and always stares at my boobs.

  • Yikes. I was screwed out of $2.50 at CVS the other day, which made me mad when I got home and looked at my receipt, but that's a far cry from a hundred bucks.

I can't stand creepy guys who leer. Fortunately for me, I have a small chest, so the only older guy I've ever noticed staring at my boobs was the dean when I was in grad school... *shudder*

  • Adam said that the other week, he paid for something at a different store (I don't remember where he said he was) and he paid with a 100 dollar bill.  The cashier tried to short him when he was giving him his change and Adam caught it and the guy said something along the lines of "Oh, I thought those were 30 dollar bills!!"  If you are that stupid, you should not be handling money.

  • We once had a waiter give herself a tip when she ran our card. We left her a cash tip on the table and I guess she didnt see it so she felt obligated to give herself a $30 tip on a $15 bill. We printed out our bank statement and brought that with the receipt back to the restaurant and told the manager. Waiter got fired, I felt kind of bad but come on...its not like we didnt give her a tip, we just left a cash tip and paid with a card.
  • 30 dollar bills? wow!

We had a lady working here, she was a total dumbass, but she paid for coffee one morning with a 100 and didn't realize she didn't get all of her change until she got to work. Seriously, that's a big difference between change from a 20 and change from a 100!

  • Wow I'm glad he noticed before you all left! I've never had anything like that happen to me so far (knock on wood). And I also hate creepy guys! I also have a smaller chest though so I don't have to worry about it too much.

Anytime I leave a cash tip when paying with a card, I just write "CASH" on the tip line so they can't just write anything in.

  • I went through a drive through the other day and ordered a $1 iced tea.  When I got to the pay window I handed her a 20.  She took the money, put in the drawer and immediately walked away.  I waited there and honked the horn but she wouldn't come back.  I went to the next window and told them what happened.  When they checked with the girl she immediately said that I had given her a 10, not a 20.  I said, "No, it was a 20, but even it it was a 10 shouldn't I have change coming back?"  The manager was called and I had to sit there while they counted her drawer.  When the manager came out with my $19 change I felt so vindicated.

Do you know what happened after that?  If she didn't get fired, I would NEVER go back there!
