Need lots of vibes

I need lots of those April Nestie vibes girls.

I had a phone screening on Monday for a job and the lady told me that she would be calling people back Friday for interviews.  Please send all the vibes you can spare that she calls me back.  I really need to go back to work again.

Also, DH grandma (who lost her hubby last month) fell last week and broke her hip.  She is having surgery tomorrow morning.  We don't know what will happen after surgery since she obviously can't go home alone again.  And, she told everyone that she did not want to go into the nursing home.

  • Lots of good luck vibes coming to you and your Grandma!!!  I really hope you get that phone call!

Something to consider: My dad's parents currently live in an independent living center (mostly to make their daily lives easier and to have people around incase something like this happens), maybe you could convince your DH's grandma to consider one of those?  My grandparents actually really like it because it is like an apartment complex for retired people, and they have lots of social activities.  Plus, I think a lot of people go there after their significant other dies, so that they are less lonely.

  • Sending lots of vibes to you and your DH's grandmother!
  • Lots of vibes for a call back!

Many prayers to your DH's grandmother and family. My grandmother fell 5 years ago and broke her hip in 3 spots. Recovery time will differ by personal. Make sure to encourage her to stay up beat, do what the doctor says, and eat! My grandmother spent about 3 weeks in the hospital then was transfered to a skilled nursing unit for a month to 6 weeks. She was living in an assisted living apartment (her building was independent, but there are other buildings where you can have a person be there more often for her). After she was released, she was able to take care of herself and live independently. Be aware that the surgery will cause the leg to be a little shorter than the other. They do make special shoes to help even them out. Get a walker for her. This has been a BIG help with my grandmother. If anything, watch how she heals in the hospital before determining if she cannot be by herself anymore.

  • Vibes vibes all around!

And ditto margaret about assisted living. My grandparents lived in a place like that before my grandma passed away and it was so great. my grandpa (who is a little more active) had lots of friends to walk with and play wii (yes, they had a wii!) and there were always people around to help when grandma got sick or fell.
