So, there's this houston girl that has this fashion and beauty blog - she is a nestie named veronabrit. I don't have a beef with verona - I do think her blog is kind of dumb but she does have a lot of followers and she seems classy and nice. So, HS who is a regular on TIP for whatever reason has decided to get her panties in a wad about it - she called out verona on the politics board, then C&P the thread on TIP. The TIP thread is where Maybride talked trash about pinkkitty.
I have just never really figured out why if someone is interested in clothes, etc that means they are self centered, etc. That's like saying if someone has a nice house/car then they are egotistical. Or...maybe they have just worked hard and have earned that stuff. But that's my soapbox for another time.
Also, someone on one of the posters mentioned that Kate Spade is so 2002 and she is completely wrong. KS had made a tremendous come back in the past year or so - her leather bags are to die for AND somewhat reasonably priced. Sorry, my superficialness can't stop itself!

I have to wonder...if she were unattractive would people diss on her so much? When you have a blog like that on the internet people are going to critique it..but it seems so....jealous, I guess (and that's not a card I like to throw out). It reminds me of a girl that was on the knot with me...I can't remember her name now - aurora, I think. Gorgeous girl and relatively intelligent as well. She had a beautiful blog full of pics of herself and her BF and other nesties/knotties insulted it constantly...I always kind of felt like the attitude toward her was so mean spirited because they were jealous.
Anyway.
Ahh, that would make sense. Though I have to wonder--if she gets insulted on pretty much every board except for F&B, then why on earth would she stick around here?

And I think you're right. I don't think she's gorgeous by any means, but it's obvious she spends a LOT of time on her appearance, based on her blog and her posts on F&B. If she were a total dog, I doubt anyone would really give twoshits. But I think every other post I see from HIB is her being shitty to someone, so I hate to say it, but this doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

Just read the "veronabrit" post on P&CE. The whole Bambi movie-thing is kinda different, but oh well.
I'm feeling bad for her getting flamed so hard. Geez louise. She's stood up for herself pretty good, though. And I agree, I think many are jealous--she does look good.
Yea, I read this this morning, but had to go back to see where they called her out. I think the whole post is pretty stupid. Attacking someone who isn't really doing anything "stupid", and can make perfect responses to them?! They can usually dig up something much more entertaining and attack much dumber nesties.

It honestly makes me sad that so many people give her such DIRECT grief about her blog and who she is in general. Fashion and makeup make her happy... What's the big deal? I commend her for taking it with stride and answering all of their rude, asinine questions with a smile and an LOL. It bothers me that people care this much. And she is a very pretty girl... and she takes care of herself. Kudos for that.

Well, I can understand that the assumption is that because verona likes clothes and make up that she is a twit but don't those same girls constantly clutch their pearls (to quote HS) and scream "Can't judge a book by a cover!!"
