I swear lately I feel like I'm in a rut making the same damn things over & over & over. Doesn't help DH is the pickiest eater EVER lol
So give me some ideas? What are you making for dinner? Or What's your favorite dinner to make?
Re: What's For Dinner?
I have no idea what we will be having for dinner. We went out to lunch today because DH wanted OUT OF THE HOUSE (said in a grumpy tone by a man in constant pain for the 5th week). We'll probably do something light and easy like a salad since lunch was fairly heavy.
As for my favorite things to cook.... feta-stuffed chicken on spinach and basil with balsamic vinegar and honey-curry chicken are two of my favorites. When I get a hankering for something my mom would make, maple-marinated flank steak with mashed potatoes tops the list.
What kinds of foods does YH like?
Tonight, Pizza Hut is providing wings courtesy of 50 cent wing Wednesday. Of course, DH is gone for dinner for the 4th night this week already. When hubby's away, wifey gets to eat whatever she wants! lol
When I have to cook, lately it's been chicken fajita soup, spaghetti, chicken rice a roni, or hamburgers and shells n cheese.
Tonight is BBQ turkey breast. I buy the premarinated turkey breasts and bake them then top them with different sauces...tonight is BBQ.
My favorite dinners to make are honey sesame chicken, fajitas, nachos, and pesto chicken. For dinner ruts, I turn to allrecipes.com At the top, you can search by ingredient, so you can put in whatever ingredient you want to use and it will give you recipes for it. You get some good ideas there.
To answer the question about DH's foods ... its more like he really doesn't eat much.
Cheese is only mozz & american. I can sneak cheddar or a mexican mix in if its not alot. No ricotta which means no baked ziti or lasagna. Or stuffed shells.
Veggies are string beans, corn, carrots.
No fish - but I'm not a fish fan so its ok by me.
We eat alot of meatballs/spaghetti, chicken parm, chicken cutlets w/ pasta or rice a roni. I've gotten him to expand a bit and will eat pasta w/ a cream sauce.
Nothing spicy. I can get him to eat italian sausage but not often.
He'll eat the typical slow cooker meal of rice/chicken w/ cream soup of some sort.
He swore he hated steak b/c it was too chewy. Turns out it was just the way his mom made it. Told me he choked on it ones - um chew your food and it won't happen. I made steak tips/mushrooms/onions in bbq and he ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!
He'll eat the old stand buy of meat & potatoes ... pot roast, roast beef, roast chicken. Only those aren't easy to make in the oven in the summer. Guess I need to take more advantage of my slow cooker.
i haven't done bbq chicken in it lately so that's an idea. i think he's gonna be bbq-d out soon lol
allrecipes.com is my addiction lol
