I'm not going to bore you with all the details...but I have a student in my class who has been having issues for weeks. Over this time, I've sent multiple emails to the student, to the mom (and I've called the mom multiple times), and to the mentor (the person who works for the local school and who is supposed to help the student). I've offered suggestions of things that I think will fix the problem, with no response about whether or not it worked. I've suggested they call the help desk.
The student herself finally called me (for the first time) on Monday. As far as I can tell, she is doing everything correctly, and I can't explain why these issues are occurring. They've called the help desk...and tech support told her to call me. (Gee, thanks.) On Monday, I told the girl that I'll break the rules and let her submit her assignments to me through email. She seemed satisfied...but hasn't yet sent me anything.
My boss forwards me an email this afternoon, asking for an explanation. Apparently, the mentor and her mom contacted someone higher up than me and complained that I'm not helping them, and that I've been ignoring their emails and phone calls (I haven't been getting emails, and I haven't been ignoring phone calls). Gahhh!!!!!
