share your Crock Pot recipes!
I know we've all discussed crock pot cookery in the past but I was thinking we should do a big, all out, crock pot recipe post. In my "too hot to cook" post from yesterday a couple girls mentioned they would like crock pot recipes. So lets all throw in the tried & true recipes to share!
eta: I know there's a DW cooking blog out there but I don't know who runs it. I was thinking maybe these recipes can be added to that, or I would also be more than happy to compile all of them and just put them up on a new blog so everyone can access them whenever, rather then having to bookmark this post or print them all out, etc.
Re: share your Crock Pot recipes!
This is just directly c&p from a recipe emailed to us by one of Ted's old coworkers, and we both really liked this one:
"my all-time favorite crock pot recipe is for italian beef...put a 1-2lb beef roast, a package of italian seasoning (like the kind to make dressing with), a jar of pepperocinis, and a can of beer in the crock pot and let it cook for 8 hours. the tastiest!"
This one was yummy & so easy. The only thing (but I think this is MY crock pot) is that it did get a bit well done on some of the edges, so I would monitor it the first time you make it to see how long it actually takes to cook. I found that even on Low my crock pot cooked this in closer to 4 hours.
I have to give Shelli credit for this one because she posted it over on TK when they were talking crock pot cooking:
All Day Macaroni & CheesePrep Time: 5 minutesCook Time: 5 hours, 10 minutesTotal Time: 5 hours, 15 minutes

Place the cooked macaroni in a slow cooker that has been coated with nonstick vegetable spray. Add the evaporated milk, milk, eggs, and 3 cups of the Cheddar cheese. Mix well. Do not remove the cover or stir until the macaroni has finished cooking.Yield: 4 servings

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my crockpot.
I have some recipes bookmarked on our other computer - I can link them later if you're interested. I usually make...
-spaghetti sauce and turkey meatballs
-salsa chicken (just chicken breasts & a jar of salsa)
-chocolate fudge cake
-BBQ Chicken
-pulled chicken
I also just bought this book and it has a TON of great recipes for the slow cooker. Totally worth the $11 that I paid for it!
