My boss is driving me nuts, with regards to my personal life.
My birthday is coming up, and Jimmy really wants to throw me a party. I am not a fan of parties for me. I am uncomfortable recieving gifts and (shocker) attention. He has been putting the pressure on, and I've been on the fence.
So the other night, we're out to dinner for another friend, and Jimmy mentions the fact that I don't want a birthday party, which, of course, creates a group of people siding with him. My boss is one of these people, who insists that we should have a party becasue she would like to celebrate my BDay.
So I agree, on the condition that I not have to clean, cook or prepare for this party in any way. Jimmy sends out an Evite, and my boss replies that she cannot make it because it's her brother's birthday party.
I just went into her office and yelled at her for making me have a party that she's not going to, and she says "I didn't know it was on Labor Day Weekend! (though she did know this) Who throws a party on Labor Day Weekend?"
I replied "Your Brother Does!!!"
I'm really not that upset that she's not coming. And BTW, anybody who wants to schlep to Jersey is welcome as long as you're 100% sure I like you. You know who you are.
Re: AAArgh!!!
Pwned! I'm sorry you're being forced to have a party and eat cake and get presents. You poor thing.
