Guess What I learned today

10 year olds who are almost 11, are "too cool" for history. We went to Independence Hall and she sulked the whole time. She loved shopping though so I can't complain.

Re: Guess What I learned today

  • Mom learned that when we went genealogy searching in graveyards.  Now I'm fascinated by history.

  • yeah they're not into it at that age.  And what else that is crazy is that the schools aren't teaching history at ages 8-9.  I don't know about 10 year olds.  But when the niece and nephew came for a week this summer, they were playing some video game (I'm not into that, so don't ask what it was) and asked if something in history was true and DH told them yes, then he started questioning them and about came unglued when he learned that they are yet to take any sort of history, but are on their second year of Spanish class.

Wow!  That really upsets me that kids aren't learning history at a young age, but are learning other languages.

I know.  It's ridiculous!  And what bothers me even more is that it doesn't seem to bother my brother and SIL.
