Again - the dreaded question
If teaching middle school isn't enough incentive to take care of yourself and lose a few pounds, I don't know what it is. They are the nastiest honest human beings!
Today I decided to wear one of my cute new "back to school" tops to work. It is a cami with cute embellishments and an empire waist. It is really one of those shirts that is lose in the body and some people feel it makes them look pregnant. Well, I put a cute short-sleeved cardigan on it and was happy to give it a little more shape.
Then I got "Mrs. D, ____ wants to know if you're pregnant!"
Ugh. I told them 1) That is a rude question to ask anybody. 2) No. If I was, I would be telling you all. After class, one of the girls apologized to me and I had to talk to her about the 3Cs- Common Sense, Common Courtesy, and Common Respect.
Looks like I'll be working out extra hard today after school!

This! That sucks, I know how uncomfortable that whole situation can be. I'm actually really surprised (sad, I know) that the girl apologized. I think one of the good & bad things about kids of that age is that many of them still don't have internal censors.
That sucks - but those tops can even make super skinny girls look possibly pregnant, so I wouldn't worry about it.
My little sister teaches kindergarten - at least when her kids say things like that to her it's more funny!! She's had one tell her she looked like she was having a baby and she is only 105lbs. They also all find it very weird that she is not married. haha.
This exactly! I have a slew of tops & a couple of dresses that are that "baby doll" cut. But I am sick of being looked at funny or asked if I'm preggo...even DH has told me that a few of them make me look that way...so I am now in the process of revamping my wardrobe. Stupid "fad"...they are such cute shirts...but once I saw a pic of myself I realized it was a fashion NOT for me.

I did just wear a dress I swore I wouldn't wear again...and I still felt like I looked preggers. Dag nab...I'll probably wear it again too!
