Did I ever tell you guys the story....

about when I was attacked by an emu?  I was going through the pictures I have on my computer and found the picture of it, but couldn't remember if I told you guys the story or not.

Stu- seriously, how does this $hit happen to you?

  • Ok, so last summer, Adam and I were looking for a place to go fishing and we happened to randomly find a drive-through safari.  So we pay our 6 bucks a piece and another 5 to get a bucket of food to feed the animals.  before the woman let us in the gate, she read us the "rules"... don't get out of the car, don't roll your window down more than 3 inches, blah blah blah... whatever.

We get through the gate and immediately roll both of our windows down all the way so we can feed some goats and sheep and stuff.  Adam was driving and I was in the passenger seat looking out his window at a buffalo.  I turn around and what's in my freakin face????  A damn EMU!!!  I'm scared to death of birds... especially birds that are big enough to eat me!!  I scream bloody murder and freak the eff out.  Adam literally has tears running down his face from laughing so hard as I'm practically climbing into his lap to get away from this bird that's trying to peck my eyes out.  He's yelling at me to roll up my window... Um, are you crazy??  NO WAY I'm putting my hand that close to that thing's beak!!!  So finally he remembers that he can roll up the window from his side, so he does.

I got so freaked out that I ended up dumping an entire cup of animal food all over my car, in my purse, etc.  I was finding corn kernels in my purse for weeks!!  Every single time I tried to feed some cute critter, one of those emus would do a sneak attack and scare the hell out of me, forcing me to throw an entire cup of food as far as I could so they would get away from me.  SCARY.AS.HELL!!!!

So we finally get out of that scary place and get to the gate.  The woman is sitting there cracking up because when I first started screaming, we were JUST inside the gate, so she heard everything.

Here's the guy that attacked me:

  • Omg! I got attacked by an emu too, but it wasn't as traumatic as your story! I was about 10 and we were at the zoo. My mother wanted a picture of me so I was posing in front of the emu cage. Next thing I know, the emu is leaning over the fence EATING my HAIR!! I freaked out and had to spend the rest of the day with emu spit in my hair. Ew.

  • Note to self: stay away from Emus.  Although I think he is pretty cute.  But if one got right up in my face or chewed on my hair, I would totally freak out.

  • Too funny!

I was attacked by a goat at a petting zoo as a child. It stepped on my foot and head butted me in the stomach/chest.

  • That's hilarious!

Birds freak me out, too. I would have been screaming and fast-pitching food right along with you.
