Favorite (local) Fall things
OK, so jumping the gun, but today feels like Fall and I love it. Fall is by far my most favorite seasons. Just wondering what local things you ladies enjoy doing in the Fall. Mine are:
- Getting pumpkins at Shaw Farm
- Going to Rosters to get apples and coming home to bake with them. However, I know when I was little I actually got to go out in the orchard and pick them. Is there anywhere around to do this?
- Hiking at East Fork once all the leaves start to change
- FOOTBALL!
- Passing out candy to Trick-or-Treaters
- and our family reunion we take to Hocking Hills every year in October. I love the woods this time of year!

Re: Favorite (local) Fall things
Taking a drive through SW Indiana (around Aurora) with the top down. All the leaves are such beautiful colors.
Making chili.
I was thinking the EXACT same thing this morning walking into work. The air had a little bit of a nip to it... it was awesome! I love fall!
On a not-so-local note, I love cute sweaters and knee-high boots, piles of leaves on the ground and floating through the air, brisk air (telling humidity GOOD EFFING RIDDANCE :x), breaking out the chilly-weather recipes (soups & stews, mmm)...
I'm also curious where to go apple picking around here... I've been wanting to do it for years, and keep procrastinating to the point where apple-picking season is over. But I just realized, even if I was on top of it, I don't know where to go. Anyone?
I agree with these two! On a not so local note I also love decorating the house for fall too! I am mostly looking forward to Starbuck's pumpkin spice lattes!
This!
Agreed- and anything like caramel apples, smell of fall etc...
Pumpkin spice lattes are the best!!
My Blog
What's Falloween?? I've never heard of it!
I think that's what it's called. Coney Island sells tickets in the fall where you can take the kids to trick-or-treat along a little circuit, buy food, and sometimes they have vendors and pumpkin carving demonstrations. Let me see if I can dredge up a link.
