Anyone want to help me redo my bedroom?
We need a new comforter/duvet and I want to take this opportunity to change the color scheme of our room. The only thing that won't change is the wall color. It is a golden beige (Ivoire by SW) and I can't come up with colors to go with it. Currently our comforter is ivory with gold accents and the curtains are merlot. Our furniture is cherry. What colors do you think would go with the walls? I can't seem to see past our current color scheme but I know I want to get away from reds and I'll never get an ivory/white comforter again as long as we have dogs/kids!
This is the wall color:

What about something like this?
Or this:
What kind of look are you thinking of going for? Fun? Traditional? Any colors off limits?

I ask this not to be difficult, but to understand what the priorities are... why is the wall color set in stone?
I'm currently working on redoing our bedroom too... and I'm looking at spending $100+ on a new duvet cover. A gallon of paint, on the other hand, gives at least as much impact for what, $20, $35, depending on what brand you go with? Way more bang for your buck. It takes a little time, but I can do a bedroom in an afternoon.
If you were willing to repaint your options would be much wider and you could do some really awesome color combinations.
I'm starting to think the same thing. DH is the one who is dead set against painting- he hates painting and I don't mind it but he still doesn't want me doing it. Maybe I'll surprise him and do it when he's away for work next month!
