Our car dealership is closing..
They just told the employees yesterday afternoon, so it hit the newspapers this morning. The last day for business is Monday (closed on the weekend). It's ironic because on of my friends was a saleslady there, and randomly got offered a different job from an old contact and had her last shift a week ago.
My heart goes out to all the employees, they were really sweet and knew me by name. But I can't help but wonder, now what happens with my car? Who will honor my service package? And what happens when my lease is up? I don't want to call them today, since anyone who's answering the phone is out of a job, but did any of you have your car dealership close?

I'm not sure about the service package but as far as when the lease it up, you can take it to any dealership. I leased my car at a dealership back in Atlanta and had I not ended up just buying my car, I would have taken it back to a dealership up here in MA at the end of my lease.
If your service package is for the warranty - I think you are able to get the maintenance done at any reputable garage/dealership. I'd definitely call and double check with them though.
hi... so I didn't look at anyone elses but I asked DH since he works for a dealership.
He said whoever gets the marketshare (usually another local dealership for the same car) will honor all leases and stuff. You'll just have to call to see where it's going. Leases are through the manufacturer (sp?) not the dealer.
