What did you write in the cards for people who didn't come to your wedding? I wrote in the cards for people who were there "thank you for your gift, blah blah about the gift" then "Thank you as well for sharing in our special day. It meant a lot to us for you to be there." But I can't obviously say that for all the people who weren't there...so what should I say instead?
"Sorry you weren't able to make it, we had a great day without you" just seems rude. bahaha (kidding, of course) But really, what do I say? Also, a lot of the people who sent gifts were friends of my mom who I don't even know to begin with, so it's not like I was really missing them on that day. But there are a few people (my favourite aunt and uncle couldn't make it for health reasons, our best friends weren't there because wifey was in labour, etc) who we really wished COULD have been there...so I dunno.
Have I mentioned that I hate writing thank you notes?
Re: Help me write these thank you notes!
what stu said or something like...
We appreciate you thinking about us during this special time, and we're sorry you couldn't join us.
ditto!!
Thanks guys. I went with that, and got a bunch more done today. I just feel that after I write 5 or 10 that all say the exact same thing, they start sounding fake. Even though that's obviously just in my head...if I didn't think the first one sounded fake, why would the fifth one that says the same words? And I am just NOT creative enough to make each one completely unique! Maybe if I only had a handful to do, but I have a huge stack.
Please tell me this is all going to be over soon, haha
