Hi ladies! I'm actually currently living down in the DC area, but am from northern CT and planning to vacation there around the end of Sept. DH has been working really hard lately so I thought I'd surprise him with a special trip kayaking in the fall foliage. Does anyone know of any areas in southern/central MA that would fit the bill? I'm having a tough time finding anything specific with Google. TIA!
Re: kayaking?
i've heard of these two places but haven't been to either. H and i have been wanting to try kayaking for a while but haven't had the chance yet this summer. i think there may be a place in boston too but i'm not sure of the name.

It might be out of the way for you, but they rent kayaks and canoes at the Charles River on Comm Ave in Newton/Weston, right by the pike/128/95. Same company that rents them on the Charles near Harvard Square.
You might also be able to try Lake Cochituate. I've never been kayaking/canoeing there but I've driven by it and see people doing it and what looks like a rental station.
The in-laws have kayaks we can use, so we won't have to rent! I'll definitely check these out!
