I know it's late, but FFFC
Anyone got any?
I was quite upset today (though no one saw it but the photographer, and really, I just said something snarky) that a teacher actually told one of my yearbook students to "kiss off" when she asked if he could come down for his yearbook photo today. The student was sent by me, and she was only doing her job. I thought that was unprofessional.
The student said, "I think ___________ has a stick up his/her ass." I replied, "Yes, they probably do."
Unprofessional response by me? Most likely. Unprofessional response by the first teacher? Absolutely.

Re: I know it's late, but FFFC
My FFFCs:
1. I've been giving a monologue to the dog all night.DH is at work so it's just Chompers and I. I've been practicing bits and pieces of a lecture for class next week on him. He just cocks his head and looks at me like I'm insane.
2. I almost never hate anyone. I can count on one hand the number of people I "hate." I hate 2 of my 120 or so students this semester. One girl is an insufferable know-it-all who keeps trying to prove that she's smarter than me. Maybe she is That's ok---but shut up long enough for me to teach the rest of your G-D class! Sadly, the only way to shut her up is to praise her extensively, "Oh, Susie, we all know you know SOOO much about this topic, so why don't you take it easy today and let the other students try to answer some of the questions" but the thought of doing that with her makes me ill. The other is a boy who is admittedly on his 7th major because "none of his other professors knew jack sh!t" Guess what, kiddo? If you thought they were morons, wait until you sit through a few of my classes. Since you seem incapable of dealing with shades of grey (given that you already have the entire world figure out in "perfect" black and white at 19) I have a feeling that this discipline is DEFINITELY not the one for you. And these people's opinions are part of what will determine whether I get tenure or not...sigh.
These past few weeks have been INSANE for me and it sometimes makes me sad that I have a few more years of this.
Amanjay, I LOATHE classmates like this, I can only imagine being on the other side of that frustration.
My bit, my mom calls the other day and tells me how my aunt calls her and goes on and on about her son and his new trailer. Now there is nothing wrong with living in a trailer, nothing, but this is the same woman that had barely 2 minutes for my mom to "brag" on my home. My mom listens for a few minutes and "oohs and ahhs" and begins to tell my aunt that she is preparing for a trip here soon, the aunt abruptly ends the conversation. This is why I choose to ignore this part of my family, most think I am a total witch but they are so consumed in themselves that I don't even bother.
