Have you ever?

Fell asleep in a movie theatre?  If yes, what movie(s)?

Re: Have you ever?

  • One of the modern Star Wars movies

One of the Lord of the Rings movies

  • Yes, one of the Lord of the Rings (the second?) movies.
  • Nope.  I rarely see movies in the theatre, so if I'm there, it's because I really want to see it and wouldn't fall asleep.

  • Haha, yes, twice.

The 2nd Pirates of the Caribbean (due to that I've not see the following ones)

And the latest Twilight movie. I took my 13 year old cousin to see it at the premiere. I must be getting old or something, because I could NOT stay awake for it all! I kept nodding off.

Then my best friend and I saw it again a week later and I stayed awake....I missed some important scenes the first time!

  • I fell asleep at Horton Who's (I think it was called) and the Lord of the Rings movie.

  • Yes, because I used to work at a movie theater and we'd screen the upcoming movies (to make sure the reels were threaded correctly) starting at midnight or later. It only happened a few times when I had already been working all day and the screening didn't start until 2 or 3 a.m.

As for a movie I actually paid for and attended like a normal person, no - but I ALMOST fell asleep during The Lord of the Rings. I had no interest in that one but XN really wanted to see it opening weekend, which was while I was visiting him in Denver.

  • Only once and it was a really really long time ago.  It was Robin Hood, Men in Tights.  I'd gone with my parents to see it and was completely bored - obviously.  Big Smile
  • Yes. It was either the second or third Fast and Furious movie. In my defense it was right after coming home from Hawaii which involved an overnight flight. I have fallen asleep in other weird places most recently during the blue man group show on our cruise last week. Bottom line is that I fall asleep when I'm tired no matter where I happen to be.
  • yes.  Napoleon Dynamite.  It was a midnight showing and i was so tired.  I am not a night person.  But we had driven 2 hours to see it - the closest theater to where I was at the time.  I thikn I saw most of it and dozed off near the end.

Ditto this, except that it was ALL the time because I went to lots of screenings that my BF at the time wanted to see and I didn't care about.  In fact, it happened so often that when I had to start paying for movies, I had to make a very conscious effort to NOT fall asleep.  Embarrassed

  • Yes.  I was in Americorps.  We were working on a very physical project in the deep south in summer.  After the work day we went to the movies just for the A/C.  I think it was a cartoon.  1/2 of my team fell asleep.
