Male Black Lab needs a home- Lawton area
Hi ladies-
I found a dog this morning. He's got no microchip and according to a neighbor he's been lurking around the neighborhood for a week or more. We cannot keep him. Anyone interested if I can't locate his owner?
The shelter is closed today so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to check with them. The one in Lawton is a kill shelter and I won't take him there. The local vet was no help.
He's super friendly! I'd be willing to meet you half way.
email is: pickles_01@hotmail.com (there's a _ before the 01, sometimes hard to see when it hyperlinks).
TIA!

I can't take in a dog right now either, but you might call Heartland Lab Rescue (OKC) or Lab Rescue OK (Broken Arrow). I've worked with both groups, and they're great people. Even if they can't take him, they might have some ideas for you.
If you find a no-kill shelter that is willing to take him and you need help transporting him, let me know. I'm in OKC and would be happy to help with that.
Good luck!

hi- thank you for responding! Heartland wants all dogs to have shots and be spuetered before they'll take them, totally understandable, but not possible for us right now.
i have just emailed lab rescue OK, so we'll see what happens. also thank you for the offer to help transport. i'll let you know.
You could offer to pay for that stuff... $50 would get them spuetered and UTD on shots. Spay OK will do it for any dog that is/ is going into rescue. Plus you could claim the $50 as a donation, everyone like tax deductions right?
