So I posted a little about this in the WTF wednesday post last week, but I wanted to share a little more so you guys can send me "courage" vibes today. I HATE confrontation.
I am a nanny for a 3mo old boy. I relieve the father in the AM and the mother relieves me in the afternoon. The mother, however, is who I dealt with in the hiring process and all the "paperwork."
On Wednesday morning I got to work and within thirty minutes my male boss was able to offend me, insult me and piss me off. I walked in the door and one of the first things he said to me was "Those jeans" looks me up and down "do you well." Uhm? Don't look at @$$. They don't pay me very much, but I took the job bc I wasn't supposed to be the main bread winner and it was some extra cash for a job that I loved (the little boy is just so well behaved). Well, since I started though they've added hours w/o adding pay, and then the father mentioned that he needs me to come an extra half hour early each day (adding 2 more hours) without pay. So i was a little steamy about that when out of the blue he comes into the room and says "I'm going to do some research for you and find a medication that works for your acne." Uhm. A little inappropriate, don't you think?
So I mustered up the courage this weekend and sent and email to the wife regarding the added hours without pay and some inappropriate comments that I'd like to discuss this afternoon. So I'm a little nervous seeing as I'll usually go out of my way to avoid confrontation, but I know i HAVE to do this. Just send some good vibes my way today if you can. TIA!!
Re: Good vibes, please
Amy is totally right.
As I've gotten older my B.S.-ometer has become very short. I find that if you call people on inappropriate behavior as soon as it happens they will take a step back and realize they CANNOT speak to me that way.
Call me Kat =^..^=
