Mine was good! We went up to a friend's place by the lake about an hour outside of town. The land is supposed to be used for camping only, so people out there put a trailer on their lot and then built these big ol' structures around them. Our friends have this huge deck and great lounge space, so we mostly hung out there because the wind picked up too much for us to go out on the boat and ski. Mr. Spiderman made fajitas on the fire and we had camping donuts for dessert.
Funny tidbit: when we first got there, we were all chatting and then I opened up the back of my car to start to unload and am greeted by their pug, Vinny. Mr. Spiderman had left his door open so Vinny let himself in and was perched atop our gear. He just sort of looked at me like, "Boo!"
Re: How was your weekend?
Busy. Ian's birthday party was yesterday so Saturday I made 12 pounds of pulled pork, baked and carved a turkey and a ham, and cleaned the house. Yesterday was more party set-up, the party, then clean-up.
This was also the weekend Ian decided he only needed one nap.
Friday night myn friend blew my mind.
Saturday Mr. Winged got home and we napped and ate cupcakes.
Yesterday we tried to find an exercauser that does not look like babies r us threw up all over it. This does not exist.
It was most excellent! Saturday I took my mom up to my friend's house so she could see what bikes he had. He buys old bikes for cheap at yardsales and restores them and resells them. She's going to get an awesome orange 1976 Schwinn. Then I went to an MLS (Major League Soccer) game and watched our team get trounced by the brand new Philly team.
Sunday was spent going to a farm and getting ice cream and seeing cows because I'm about 6.
Husbands should be like Kleenex: Soft, strong, and disposable.
Ours was busy with a bunch of nothing. Saturday I went shopping alone, I needed two dresses for events coming up. It was great, and I actually found two halfway flattering and not budget busting dresses! I also got my eyebrows done and went to thegrocery, then made homemade pizza. Sunday was housework, errands, and dinner. Mike worked in the yard and did work all weekend. He's doing his new job and his old one so he's overloaded.
Maggie can now sing Take Me Out to the Ballgame and she's taken to breastfeeding her stuffed animals. She also held a rattle up to her chest to "pump" while I was doing so this morning. Funny kid. And Owen slept most of the night in his crib last night, it's finally time to move him to his room. Such a big boy already.
Our weather sucked balls this weekend.
We went to New Orleans Saturday to meet my cousin and her new boyfriend. She's 19 and he's 25, which kinds of skeeves me out (I mean, I don't want to date a 19 year old). But we had an open mind, and yep, he's a douche. We had a good lunch but trudging around in the rain was not so much fun. I wanted to ditch them and find Aliza.
Yesterday we did yard work in the rain which was teh suck. Then we used the sucky weather as an excuse to nap and watch tv all day. Also, it was taco night, which is always a mood lifter.
The nerve!

Weekend was good. Went to NY for my friend's bridal shower, got to hang with my bffs and finally meet my new "nephew".
Came home yesterday and baked Todd a cake since Saturday was his birthday. Now I have to make up for being away by finding him a double bass pedal for his drums. I have no clue what I'm looking for.

My weekend was awesome. Dimi's bday bash was Saturday. The mojitos I made for the grown-ups were delish, the cupcakes were gobbled, the birthday boy didn't freak out, opened presents and loved his cupcake. I don't entertain much, and when it was over I wanted to think of an excuse to throw another party, so I think that means it went well.Pics will have to wait, they're on Mr M's camera.
Sunday my MIL took Bug and I back to school shopping. We got Bug some really cute dresses and tops. Then we went back to our house and I made dinner out of the garden - eggplant pizza and salad - and opened a schmancy bottle of two buck chuck. We just chatted and had a nice end to their visit. Next year I'm going to plan my veggies around what meals I like to cook. There's something nice about knowing the only things in your meal you didn't grow were the dough and cheese.
"The meek shall inherit the earth" isn't about children. It's about deer. We're all going to get messed the fuckup by a bunch of cloned super-deer.- samfish2bcrab
Sometimes I wonder if scientists have never seen a sci-fi movie before. "Oh yes, let's create a super species of deer. NOTHING COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG." I wonder if State Farm offers a Zombie Deer Attack policy. -CaliopeSpidrman
