Anyone watch the Emmys last night? Thoughts?

Just finished watching... I'm an awards show fan and a Jimmy Fallon fan, so I enjoyed it! I was actually hoping for more Jimmy Fallon, but I took whatever I could get.
I love Modern Family but I was surprised with the wins since it was their first season. I love Cam from Modern Family, but I thought it was time for Neil Patrick Harris to win for How I Met Your Mother instead. :sigh:
And I learned that if you want an Emmy, the thing to do is direct or star in a mini-series, since there were only 2.
Oh, and I was impressed that they ended on time! It was actually 9:59 when the credits started. I don't think I've ever seen an awards show end on time!
It's funny you mention Jimmy Fallon. DH and I aren't huge Jimmy fans, but we really enjoyed his work (-especially the opening!-) last night.
We LOVE Modern Family, but like you said, we were surprised with just how much they won. We thought Glee was going to clean up. We think the problem with Glee is that people view it with a love/hate relationship. I've actually never seen HIMYM, though I've heard it's funny...
I thought Jane Lynch looked really classy:

And I have mixed feelings about Claire Danes. At some moments I think she looks GORGEOUS in her gown... and then other moments... not so much. I think the hair color/make-up is throwing me.
If you liked the opening, I really think you would like Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Ever since the finales of our regular shows in the spring, we started DVR-ing Late Night to have something to watch at night and on weekends. His skits are hilarious. He's usually not playing a character, so it's not like his SNL days. You should give it a try.... maybe a weeks worth.
How have you never seen HIMYM?! It's my favorite show on TV right now. But... since you mentioned it, I'm glad Glee didn't clean up... I've never seen it.
That's one of those shows that I've hear of (obviously) but I have no idea what channel it's on or what day or what time.
There are a TON of dramas like that too. Of all the ones lastnight, I've only watched House! I was like, "what are all of these shows!" Some, I'd never heard of!
That's the thing - we have watched it. We don't find it that funny. I actually think he kind of comes off as awkward and a little weird sometimes. Maybe he'll come into his own though over the next few years. Loved him on SNL, though!
We just haven't run across it. Maybe it's on Hulu or Netflix so I can catch up...
I love her dress! It might be because is nearly the exact same color/texture as my bridesmaids dresses were, though

I'm kind of glad Modern Family did so well...it means it won't be going anywhere for awhile, right? It is one of DH and I's favorite shows. I always refer to him as "the brown Phil" because they are seriously so much alike.

I've actually never watched Modern Family. What channel/night/time is it on? I'd like to start watching.
And I agree, I haven't watched a lot of the shows that won last night. Maybe I need to dvr some of them! And I love Jimmy Fallon!!
Modern Family is on ABC. I don't know when it's going to be on this fall, but you can check out free episodes on Hulu.com. *highly recommend!*

He was akward at first... I think he was nervous. It's definitely a lot better already, but I liked the akwardness too - I thought it was funny.
