definitions

I realize that my definition of something may vary from someone else's.

Today while I was at the gym, B decided he was going to "clean" the house.

As I was taking B2 up the stairs, I realized where B had "cleaned" everything.

I just hate it when he gets in the mood to clean. He moved things from the table to the stairs. Which means I now have to sort thru everything and decided where to put it. He also decided to clean the computer desk and he moved all sorts of paperwork to the built in hutch. Once again, i have to sort thru it and decide what go where.

I get that he wants to help, but in the long run, he is making more work for me. And I put thing in a certain spot for a reason. When he moves thing around I forget about them.

Re: definitions

  • I'm the worst offender when it comes to 'pile-moving' like that, but DH and I definitely have different clean definitions as well.

Like the bathroom...  he thinks "cleaning" means running a quick paper towel over the counter, faucet and mirror, and shoving stuff into drawers.  There will still be (his) toothpaste in the sink, toilet won't be cleaned and the floors won't be touched, but he thinks it's "clean".  Uh, NO.

  • While we're on the bathroom subject, B is the same way.

And since he is on this new medicine, it makes his pee orange. So, as if its not bad enough to have man pee on the toilet, it is now orange. gross, I know.

Chase's idea of cleaning the bathroom? Putting my hair dryer in the drawer.

Same here!  I have to clean the bathroom sink, toilet, bathtub, floors, - that room has to be spotless before I say it's clean.  Him - if the toilet is cleaned he says it's clean.  I love that at least he'll do that.  But - he'll clean everything else pretty good though.

We also have a different definition when it comes to folding clothes.  I'm kind of a perfectionist.  The shirts have to be folded straight and his shirts have to be folded in 3-folds to fit in his drawer.  And I'm talking t-shirts here.  I have to fold my own underwear - yeah - I have a special way of folding them.  Towels - I'm kinda picky - but if he's helping me with that - there are some things where you just have to step back and say - hey, it's good enough - at least he's trying to help me.

  • This whole post just makes me lol.  This used to be an issue but he's getting so much better.  Honestly, both of us used to need help with the cleaning because our styles of cleaning irritated eachother.
