That reminds me: Yesterday at my housewarming at least three people asked the dreaded kid question. My mom said, "C'mon already. You're almost 30, you know?"

Oh how I hate that question... we got it so often - and it was so awkward when we were actually trying. My parents weren't terrible but they were definitely asking/hinting. DH's parents claim they are not ready to be grandparents, they are too young (they are 10 years older than my parents though).

I was a little curious if there was an announcment in here as well. Not necessarily from Mamie but...
And the questions don't stop even if you have one. I don't think I was out of the hospital when I was asked when we would have another. Sorry to burst the bubble.
I was feeling particularly snarky when someone asked me once. My response? "We'll think about having kids once people forget how much money they spent on our wedding presents and will buy us good shower gifts." Luckily, the person I was talking to burst out laughing and thought it was hilarious...they also haven't asked me since

Ouch. You know, because 30 is the worst thing that can happen.
I told DH I wanted to go on a blowout vacation for our 30th birthdays (in 3 years) and wanted to go to Europe together before having kids. So I guess we won't be having kids for 3 more years.

This. One of my best friends asked me this when she came to visit! Ummm, how about I figure this kid out before talk of a second. People are amazing.
I am still spawnless and probably will be for a long time...likely forever. Unless my back ever gets better and stays better for a long period of time, I refuse to get pregnant. Now that the doctors are referring me to a rheumatologist to get tested for fibromyalgia...the chances are becoming even slimmer. Can't really say I'm disappointed, though. I was never sold on the spawning thing anyway...
