What do you think of the new FB "places"?

Stalkerish? Interesting? Fun?

Have you used it?

Re: What do you think of the new FB "places"?

  • Personally I wouldn't use it. I think it's alittle stalkerish. I have seen people have actually addresses on theirs. Alittle too much for me.

  • I only check in when I'm at a public place I'm talking about on FB/Twitter anyway - like the club or the mall. I never check in at home or anywhere near my house...that's just too much info out there.

  • I think it's very creepy. Especially when people say they are at home or work and there's the map that shows exactly where home is. I've used it once and that was when I was at school. But I just put University of Oklahoma, so it's a pretty large area. I probably won't use it again though.

  • From what I understand you can't make it a private thing so everyone can see it. Add that to the fact your name is displayed for all to see and it makes it a stalkers dream. Now people know when you are at home or away from the house.
  • Very creepy, very stalkerish. If I want someone to know where I'm at, I'll put it in my status.

Actually you can change the privacy settings so only your friends (or whoever you want) can see.

  • I tried it for the first time last Tuesday as I was leaving the place where I said I was at.

It isn't anything I'll be diving into again.  I like that no one, not even H most of the time, knows where I'm at.  I'm freeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • I want nothing to do with it. I turned all of that off, including the option to have your friends "check you in" to places. They can check you in, even if you aren't there, the way I understand it!

  • Haven't used it and won't.  I think it's definitely creepy/stalkerish.
