A few nights in Dallas (help a newb out!)

H and I are thinking about spending a couple of nights in Dallas this come weekend (4th-6th). We want it to be a relaxing mini-vacation and seeing as we're coming from Tulsa, we don't want to spend too much driving when we get there. So, what is a hotel you would recommend that is within walking distance to bars, restaurants and shopping? We really don't want to spend more than $150 a night on a hotel.

Thanks in advance!

  • Not sure if that exists. I would say the W but that is out of your price range. I would stay at a cheaper place and take a cab to the vickery park area.

  • There's a ton of hotels in the Uptown area of Dallas where lots of restaurants and bars are, but most are pretty pricey. You could try to Priceline something. The Stoneleigh is my favorite, but there's also the Melrose, The Ritz Carlton, Hotel Zaza and The Crescent. Downtown hotels can be on the cheaper side, but there's not a ton of bars downtown (or at least ones I would suggest going to.) The Fairmont usually runs a $99 special. There's also and ALoft Hotel there.

Sadly, Dallas isn't a very "walking" city so you might have to take a cab here and there.
