Any G2G's coming up?

So we found out my husband has to go out of town for 3 weeks for this job and I'm looking for things to do while he is gone. I'll still be working and trying to take care of the house, TJ, dog/cat, etc. but I'm sure there are going to be a few times where I just want to get out of the house and do something. It really sucks because I HATE being home by myself at night and although we've been away from each other before, I'm worried I can do it all by myself, especially with TJ. It was only supposed to be 2 weeks, with a possibility of 4 but he will be back on the 23rd of Sept. We aren't sure if he is leaving thursday or sunday(which happens to be his birthday). I'm just all stressed out about it. Dont get me wrong, the money is going to be great and it will really help us out in the future but I can't get past the being alone for 3 weeks part. Crying Any suggestions on how to feel better about this?

  • I actually look forward to when DH is out of town.  Granted, it's usually for a two-week stretch..with the longest being one month.  But I get a lot of cleaning, catching up with friends, reading, etc. done while he's gone...and we have a renewed appreciation for one another when he comes back.  I actually can't wait for him to go again so we try out this video conferencing on our new phones!

That said, obviously I can't entirely relate to your situation since we have no kids.

Ditto all of this.  It's very rare that DH is OOT anymore, and sometimes I miss it, hah.

Definitely take advantage though and catch up with girlfriends, watch TV/movies that he wouldn't like, cook the foods he doesn't like, etc.

And ask family/friends for help with TJ if you need it!!  I'm sure they'd be understanding and more than willing to help!

  • DH and I actually can't stand to be apart.  We're probably kind of sick that way, that after 9+ years together we still hate being away from one another.  That's not to say that I don't value my time to myself though.  I have a whole whole lot less of it now that he's in a different job than before- he's usually home when I leave in the morning and home when I get back at night.  We love spending time together and hate being apart but I do enjoy time to myself sometimes as well.

Meanwhile a GTG: I would be totally in. :)
