lol here's a problem I'd like to have!

While I was sitting in the waiting room at the physio's office this morning, I picked up a magazine to browse through - it was from this luxury real estate company, and had articles in addition to property advertisements.

One of the articles was about how in this poor economy you may wish to downsize your home, and how to decorate smaller spaces effectively. Fair enough, right? But the examples cracked me up: a "smaller" beach house in the Hamptons for vacationing at and a penthouse in Washington D.C.

Riiiiight. Because god knows when the economy forces me to "downsize" to a penthouse, I'll be worried about whether my Louis XIV table makes proper use of the dining room. Confused

I actually burst out laughing in the waiting room at how ridiculous the article was...somehow I don't think I'm their target audience...

Hah - those poor poor people - what will their friends think when they have the "smaller" beach house? Imagine just scraping by like that!! Stick out tongue

Funny thing, MH and I were looking at lofts in San Francisco since prices have come down a little. We were following a list I made, but then we accidently walked into the wrong open house - same building, different unit. It was this freakin huge 3000SF loft that only happen in the movies with 3 levels plus a roof top deck - mmm mmm gorgeous. And now reduced to only $1.12 Million!! We smiled politely, continued on our tour, then laughed our pants off when we got to the car.

I guess I will keep buying lottery tickets

I always thought it would be fun to look at open houses like that.

Eh, it only has 3 bedrooms. I need at least 4 in a $6.9M house. Wink

It had more bathrooms! It seemed to be a trend in the multi-million dollar Hawaii beach homes... more bathrooms than bedrooms.  Hmm... makes you wonder how they live...

My guess: sleep on the beach, but want your own potty

    What's your guess?

I was wondering the same thing! I'm thinking one per bedroom, one for guests and one for...the cabana boy? Stick out tongue
