DH says not to worry, but I am
Monday DH told me that there is a rumor going around work, from a very good source that each department has to downsize by 10%. So not an overall reduction of 10%, but each department.
Last night I asked him if he was sure he wouldn't be let go. He says no, he's not at the bottom of the list and he's not worried.
Ugh, I don't like this limbo. The whole area knows things are bad with the company b/c they're trying to sell that sector anyways.
I think I'm also stressed b/c we've spent so much money on the house this summer and we need to go back to saving for our next reno.

Worrying doesn't do either of you any good. Even if he said, "yeah, you know, I probably am at risk," worrying doesn't get you there.
If you're really concerned, draw a line in the sand around unnecessary spending (including house renovation or small investments for the house) for a while. Get on a 60 day spending freeze. Investigate where you can start keeping spending as low as possible. In the mean time, make sure his resume is up to date, and he's thinknig about his network in case he needs to start using it.
But you worrying isn't good for you OR for him... he's probably surrounded by worry and all that crap at work, even if he's not worried about himself.
Good luck!
Kathy-you're right. We did talk about what changes would have to occur if it happens. I would have to pick up health ins coverage, change my savings allotment and probably decrease my 401k to just the match.
My salary will actually cover almost all of the bills, the car payment will be the biggest issue, but we do have our efund.
