Question for my partner. He's in the interview process for a Director level position with a Fortune 50 company. The last phone interview was last Friday, and within 10 minutes of that phone interview, the hiring manager's assistant called him to schedule an in-person interview. The position is in Chicago an we live in Minneapolis.
He wasn't expecting her call, and was a little off his game and did not ask if they would be paying for travel expenses. So, Monday morning, he sent her an email that thanked her for setting the appointment (3 weeks from now) and said, "What process should I use to book my travel arrangements? Will (COMPANY) be completing the arrangements or should I arrange my own travel, and if so will I be reimbursed for these expenses?"
It's now Wednesday and no response. What should he do next? Call her? Call the original HR contact who interviewed him before the hiring manager?
