There is a guy in my office who has got to be in his mid 80's or so (fought in WWII). He comes in a few days a week for the first half of the day - I think he was a long time regular employee, and my company allows him to keep an office for as long as he'd like, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't do any real work anymore.
Poor guy just stopped by and asked me the date for the 3rd time today! Usually he only asks once. He has also came to me to ask about how to check his voice mail, and what he should do with an old diet coke he left on his desk over a weekend. They're some of the easier questions I get asked at work ![]()
Re: My "coworker"
That's pretty awesome that your company still lets him come in & have an office. I'm sure it means a lot to him, especially if he isn't really doing any work.
This!
That's really great of your company to continue to do that for him. I'm sure that's what he looks forward to everyday.
