What has been the highlight of your summer (so far)? Finding out my sister is pregnant was pretty big! Keeping it a secret has been tough but after this weekend, everyone can know. No more lying to people about not knowing who will have kids first and when!

Have you ever had food on a stick? What did you try and did you like it? I do have food on a stick at the Fair. That is sort of their "thing". Everything you could want to eat - on a stick! I had a reuben on a stick once that was really good! It was built like a corndog but the inside was a sausage made of corned beef and sauerkraut. They dipped it in a rye batter and deep fried it. It was tasty!
What are you looking forward to this fall? Cooler nights, having the windows open, going apple picking, enjoying it all without the stress of planning a wedding.
When you were a kid, what occupation did you want to be? Still want to do it? I wanted to be a secretary or a veterinarian. Can't say I want to do either!

When you go to the zoo, what animal is a "Must see" and why? I love penguins if the zoo has them. They're just kinda cute and make me smile.
What is your idea of the perfect picnic lunch? A shady spot by a body of water, a nice blanket, no bugs, cold chicken salad, fruit, a lovely dessert and a glass of wine please!
When you order a pizza, what is typically on it? What is the most "out there" combo you've tried and would you order it again? I typically get black olives on my pizza. The most unusual combo was ham and sauerkraut. I'd get it again!
What has been the highlight of your summer (so far)? I'm a space cadet and don't remember much of this summer. IDK!
Do you go to your local State Fair? Every year! It was the first three weeks of Aug. and was only ok this year. There wasn't as much free entertainment as there was in the past.
Have you ever had food on a stick? What did you try and did you like it? Not anything exciting, just a corndog. (MorningStar corndogs are particularly good.)
What are you looking forward to this fall? Our trip to the French Lick Resort. We will probably stay at the French Lick Springs Hotel (although, West Baden is nicer.). We'll do tours of both, and we'll gamble. I also have to do a write up of West Baden for my History of Interiors class.
When you were a kid, what occupation did you want to be? Still want to do it? An attorney. No!
Read anything good lately? What was the title? I've read some really good books this summer; I'm not sure about the current read yet. Empress Orchid was fantastic--it is a fictional autobiography about Empress Cixi. There are some factual events/items in the book, but mostly not (or they're real and placed in the wrong time period).
When you go to the zoo, what animal is a "Must see" and why? Donkeys. I love donkeys! I really love most of the animals and go crazy taking pictures. I think we're going this weekend!
What is your idea of the perfect picnic lunch? A nice salad like mixed greens with feta, red onion, walnuts, and balsamic-honey dressing; marinated quorn sandwich on good bread or pita; and cold strawberry soup.
When you order a pizza, what is typically on it? What is the most "out there" combo you've tried and would you order it again? It depends on where we go. At most places onions, black olives, mushrooms, and green peppers...sometimes pineapple. At Puccini's, crushed tomatoes, onion marmalade, basil, and parm. We don't really do anything wild since I'm vegetarian.

Read anything good lately? What was the title? I don't read....but the September Issue of Vogue is HUGE...still trying to get through that...
When you go to the zoo, what animal is a "Must see" and why? Cat Country...love the cheetahs, lions, and the black panther.
What is your idea of the perfect picnic lunch? Really cute quilt under a huge old tree, chilled bottle of Merlot, little salami sandwiches with colby cheese, mozzarella cucumber and tomato salad, and red velvet cake. And then a nap....and it's 60 degrees outside.
When you order a pizza, what is typically on it? What is the most "out there" combo you've tried and would you order it again? I usually get mushrooms, pepperoni, and pineapple. And then dip my crust in ranch dressing. I always get the same thing...not very adventurous when it comes to my pizza.
What has been the highlight of your summer (so far)?
Our trip to Jamaica for SIL's wedding was fun. Expensive for a vacation we didn't really pick, but it was still fun.

When you were a kid, what occupation did you want to be? Still want to do it?
I had no clue. When I was tiny, I wanted to be a palentologist. I have no idea where I got that idea. As I grew up, I realized that was a bad idea and all the bones are probably dug up by now.
My mom and dad both had "office" jobs, so that's all I really expected I would do as an adult... and that's what I do now.
Read anything good lately? What was the title?
I rarely read - just when traveling. We took the train to Chicago and I read part of a book DH bought for me, "Ball of Fire: The Tumultuous Life and Comic Art of Lucille Ball." I'm a big Lucy fan, but I read her autobiography about a year ago, so it was nothing new to me.
When you go to the zoo, what animal is a "Must see" and why?
First, the Malaysian Sun Bears because they're adorable! They look like black bears, but they're tiny (in comparison). They actually play with toys in their pen too, it's so cute. We actually adopted one at the STL zoo last year.
We also usually see the puffins/penguins because it's cold in there and it's usually hot at the zoo. 
What is your idea of the perfect picnic lunch?
Ham sandwich, chips, and soda. That's pretty much a perfect lunch for me anytime.
When you order a pizza, what is typically on it? What is the most "out there" combo you've tried and would you order it again?
Ham, onions, and mushrooms are my favorites. I don't usually go "out there" with pizza, but DH and I usually go half-and-half because he hates mushrooms. Last time, he got roasted red pepper, pineapple, and bacon. He said he liked it.
What has been the highlight of your summer (so far)? Taking Jaiden to minor league baseball games. He loves being outdoors and around lots of people.

There is this pizza place that we go to and you can get whatever you want on it. DH likes the hot wing pizza and loaded bake potatoe.

But I love me a good margarita pizza (basil, tomato, cheese and garlic). I think the strangest combo I have tried was a chorizo and jalapeno pizza.

What are you looking forward to this fall? Everything! I love fall- the food, the weather, the clothes, football, being outside, Halloween, Thanksgiving, everything! I'm looking forward to baking especially though. And we're going camping in the Catskills with some friends, so that will be fun!

Read anything good lately? What was the title? I just read "Moloka'i" which is set in Hawaii in the early 1900's. I really liked it!

When we make it at home though, it's just loaded up with veggies. The most out there one I've made though had an egg baked into it- it was actually really good! The runny yolk was perfect.
What has been the highlight of your summer (so far)?
Up to now? Finishing my Masters classes. I'm not completely done... I have two more, but I have no idea when they'll be offered again. So I'm "done for now." Yay.

I read "The Host" by Stephenie Meyers. I enjoyed it. Not as good as the Twilight novels, but it was still an interesting read. I'd give it a solid B.

I love me some big kitties. Always have.

If I'm being "healthy" (though, is pizza ever healthy?!) I get green peppers, onions, and mushrooms. Otherwise, I loooove a Hawaiian pizza - pineapple and ham! I've tried lots of different things on pizza... but nothing stands out as particularly "out there".

What are you looking forward to this fall? I just love fall in general but I am looking forward to dance starting again as well as my french classes and photo society. Also our top secret Anniversary trip that The Mr. has been planning.
