Survey funny

I randomly take online surveys which earn me points that I can later convert to cash... it's quick, easy, and basically getting money for doing nothing.  They usually ask what age category you fall under... the one I just took only had two options:  less than 18 and 18-64.  That's kind of a broad range and I don't know if I like being lumped in with 64 year olds!!!

Re: Survey funny

  • I do surveys too! I usually redeem my points around Christmas, and use the money to buy presents :)

Also, a year and a half ago I won one of the "monthly prize draws" that no one in real life ever seems to win, and got a cheque for $1000!

  • haha that is a big gap!

  • Which survey companies are you signed up with?  I made accounts for both Adam and myself with mysurvey, zoompanel, npd, lightspeed, Toluna, and I'm sure there are probably others that I'm forgetting.  I'm selfish though... I either just get the cash and spend it on random stuff or I trade the points in for books or other random crap that I don't really need.  Sometime this month, Nielsen is supposed to send us 30 bucks just for answering a survey about our radio listening habits.  It's stupid easy money.  I'm slightly addicted to it.

  • I do SurveySpot, Ipsos-I-Say, and the last one I'm not sure what it's called...the surveys come from someone called Marie Brighton, and that's the name that was on the cheque that I got (the $1000 one) so you might want to try googling that!

  • i had no idea about this! but I'm signed up to 2 places now!
  • I want free money!!  And all of these places are reputable?  Very interesting.

I was sad when I had to check the 26-35 box after I had turned 26 a few years ago.  Soon I'll be checking the over 30 box.  Eek.

  • I should do surveys too! In a related note, my DH apparently signed up to be a mystery shopper today. Hahaha!!

  • Ahhh mystery shoppers always used to come in to my work when I worked at a spa.  Our boss would give us free stuff if we got good reports :)

Yep, they're reputable.  With all of them, you have to rack up points and once you get so many, you can exchange them for money.  Mysurvey is the one I do the most.  They can either send you a check in the mail, or transfer to a paypal account.  Zoompanel, I'm not sure if they still do the paypal thing or not, but I order books with my points.  Lightspeed always has random stuff you can get.

  • Good to know! I do MyPoints, but I don't seem to ever "qualify" for their surveys. Even though they tell me that after 10 minutes of questions.

I do the click-thrus (basically, they send you advertising emails and you click a button and they give you points), and after a few years of on-and-off clicking, I just sent away for $50 in Barnes & Noble gift cards. :)

    These survey sites sound better.

  • Mysurvey has also sent me free products to try out.... which I then had to do a survey on.  They sent me like a 2 month supply of Gain laundry detergent.... some new hair dye (which I was scared of, so I didn't try it).... new snack foods to test.

I used to be a mystery shopper!  I did it a few times before I gave up.  I was always so nervous!  I shopped at Domino's, Kmart, a local Christmas tree place, and Bennigan's.

But I'm glad stu started this thread becuase I have e-mailed HH with the list of all the places you guys do surveys so we can start earning some extra cash too!
